Darley's Sun Boat floats to victory at Gulfstream

Darley Stable's 4-year-old colt Sun Boat (GB) scored back-to-back wins at Gulfstream Park, breaking his maiden on January 19 in a 1-mile Maiden Special Weight on the main track and following it up with a 3-length victory on Monday in a 1 1/16 mile allowance event on the turf under jockey Edgar Prado.

The bay son of Machiavellian stalked the pace in third position, caught the leader turning for home, and drew off in the stretch under no threat from the competition to win by widening daylight. He has proven his versatility in his last three starts, finishing a game second on December 5 going 1 1/8 miles on the turf before his subsequent victories on both dirt and turf at varying distances.

Darley Stable and EH Racing, under the care of assistant trainer Brian Ange, have been enjoying steady success at Gulfstream Park, with 8 winners from 14 starters at the meet.

Sun Boat (GB) was bred in Great Britain by Meon Valley Stud and is out of the Nashwan mare One So Wonderful (GB).
