Darley's 'Escapade continues

Darley Stable's 4-year-old filly Dubai Escapade made it three in a row on Friday when she won an allowance event at Gulfstream Park going 1 mile on the main track under jockey John Velasquez. The bay filly broke sharply and immediately assumed the lead under a tight hold. She held off her lone challenger near the wire to win comfortably by 3/4 length.

Trainer Eoin Harty said, "She ran a super race today. She has a ton of class and a ton of gas, and she showed both today."

Dubai Escapade broke her maiden by 5 1/4 lengths going 1 mile at Nad Al Sheba in March, 2005, then won by 7 3/4 lengths in her last start at Gulfstream Park going 6 1/2 furlongs on January 25, earning a 104 Beyer.

The Awesome Again filly was bred in Kentucky by Needham Betz Thoroughbreds & James Blackburn and was purchased at the 2004 Barretts March 2-Year-Old in Training Sale for $2,000,000. She is out of the Saratoga Six mare Sassy Pants, and is a half sister to Madcap Escapade.

Harty said that he would discuss plans for the filly with Sheikh Mohammed and Darley Stable in the near future.
