Keene Escapade

Darley Stable’s 4-year-old filly Dubai Escapade scored an easy 4¾ length victory as she stepped up into stakes competition in the $200,000 Vinery Madison GII at Keeneland going 7 furlongs under jockey Edgar Prado. The bay filly stretched her win streak to four in a row from five races. Her last three victories have been accomplished in impressive fashion since her arrival in the United States, with a combined margin of 14¼ lengths.

The Awesome Again filly broke sharply from the outside post position and quickly assumed the lead, as is her style. She set fast fractions of 21.4, 44.3, 1:09,3, finishing the 7 furlongs in 1:22.1 while under a hand ride and gearing down at the wire.

Dubai Escapade broke her maiden by 5 1/4 lengths going 1 mile at Nad Al Sheba racecourse in Dubai in March, 2005, then won by 7 3/4 lengths in her North American debut at Gulfstream Park going 6 1/2 furlongs on January 25, earning a 104 Beyer.

Darley's filly was bred in Kentucky by Needham Betz Thoroughbreds & James Blackburn and was purchased at the 2004 Barretts March 2-Year-Old in Training Sale for $2,000,000. She is out of the Saratoga Six mare Sassy Pants, and is a half sister to Madcap Escapade.
