Robador back-to-back for Walter Family Trust
Barbara Walter's 4-year-old homebred Robador scored back-to-back wins at Del Mar in a pair of 1 1/16 mile allowance races on the main track. He won a Cal-bred A-Other-Than on July 20th, coming from off the pace and getting up by a neck. On Wednesday, the bay colt followed that up with a victory in an open company A-Other-Than, again coming from off the pace and finishing with a strong, sustained run to prevail by a neck. Both victories were accomplished under the guidance of jockey David Cohen.
"He's a very nice horse who continues to improve with every start," said trainer Eoin Harty. "He will now be pointed to the Cal Cup Classic and will hopefully prove to be a very useful handicap horse in the months ahead."
The Robannier colt was bred in California by the Robert H. Walter Family Trust and is out of the Falstaff mare Ivory Bowl. He won the $250,000 Snow Chief Stakes at Hollywood Park on April 24, 2005 before running in a pair of Grade 2 stakes, finishing a respectable fourth in the Swaps.
