Mandurah debuts at Gulfstream
Darley Stable's 3-year-old colt Mandurah graduated in his debut race on Saturday in a Maiden Special Weight at Gulfstream Park going 7 furlongs under jockey Edgar Prado. The A. P. Indy bay sat just off a quick pace and made his move turning for home, getting up to win by 3/4 length.
"He showed a lot of tenacity today," said trainer Eoin Harty. "He was behind traffic and took a lot of dirt, but he ran through it and prevailed gallantly."
Mandurah was bred in Kentucky by Gainsborough Farm and is out of the Machiavellian mare Morning Pride (IRE). He went off as the third betting choice in a field of eleven.
